History

1978

Cotopaxi Aglomerados S.A., better known as Cotopaxi Decor in the United States, was founded in 1978 by a group of visionary entrepreneurs led by Mr. Juan Manuel Durini Palacios in Ecuador, who had entered the forestry and wood industry 30 years earlier.

1996

The company installed its second press to coat boards with elegant wood veneers, and the following year, it launched veneered boards and inaugurated the largest and most important MDF plant in the Andean region. This milestone required an aggressive awareness campaign and extensive training efforts for the use of MDF in Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia.
